I've wanted to show my take on Power Girl for a while, and this ([link]) contest finally gave me a nice opportunity. I based her body around heavyweight female boxers (190+ pounds), focusing on giving her mass to block hits.
As for the costume, I wanted to keep the asymmetry of her cape without having the actual cape (been kind of anti-cape since The Incredibles) - hence the red part of her top. I also gave her Capri pants. (I never got the whole leotard thing.)
The coloring style on this one was also a bit of an experiment. I don't think I'll use it again, though. Still, it's good to try out new things.
Power Girl is owned by DC.
Any and all critique is welcomed.
UPDATE: While I didn't get to the finals, I did get sixth in the qualifying vote. Congrats to , who did move on! You can see their submission here: [link] .
I so love your stylized art piece here, great proportions overall too. I like your flying pose that isn't over sexualized. Good colors too, it's all very pleasing with simple detailed lines. Very nice.
I read that link and what the company had to say for that piece was ridiculous. But on the subject of this, I like it. The only problems are is that as I look at this, her left hand (the one on our right) seems just a tad small. the forearm on that side seems a little thin too. But maybe that's just me.
